DANGERS: Pet Vaccinations | Page 3

Comments from pet owners

Vaccine associated sarcomas

My cat has had 2 vaccine related tumors removed. The vets don't even tell you its a risk AND they STILL vaccinate in the scruff (huge no no for cats) and in the hip instead of the knee or lower and its a disgrace. Cat owners think they are helping their dearly loved kitty with out ever knowing the true risks!!

If your kitty is indoor only no shots are ever needed again after first round. ALWAYS make sure your vet vaccinates your cat as low on the rear leg as possible or you will learn the hard way like myself and so many others had to.

Cats with vars

I has 13 cats all rescues. 3 of the cats developed this cancer and passed away. 2 of the cats were sisters and their other sibling lives next door and has never been to a vet yet is alive while my girls are gone because I took them for shots every 3 yrs. My cat no longer get these yearly shots as it's not necessary. Cats should not have access to outside. I still feel guilt.

Vaccine associated death (my story)

I took my cats to the vet to get them their yearly shots. They were given Rabies, leukemia, and the normal "3 in 1". When I arrived home, one cat was throwing up and one cat could barely make it up the stairs. My cat layed by my bedroom door panting and could barely move.

I rushed her back to the vets office, and they immediately took her into the back room. An assistant came out to inform me that they had to put a tube down her throat and ultimately she died from the Rabies or leukemia shot. They reported that batch number of the Rabies injection, although I believe it was the leukemia shot, as my other cats were OK.

That information however, didn't bring back my beloved cat.

A Vet told me that "the FeLV vaccine may actually stir up the virus if it is already lying low in your cat and it will more than likely kill the cat".

A few years later, I took another cat (different vet) to get her shots, and told the doctor and staff NOT to give her a leukemia shot because she wasn't tested....they DID give her the shot, and she died a few hours later, she was just a kitten. It's devastating to lose a pet and even worse if the vet administered the deadly potion. Beware of vaccinations!
